Abstract: This chapter reviews provisions of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004 (PL 108-446), describes “meaningful” inclusion, and presents general strategies for working with children with special needs. Information is also presented on how to include families in a child’s program. A list of special education terms and their definitions appears at the end of the chapter.
