Abstract: This training package has been developed collaboratively in response to the need expressed from NC state and local providers to have specific information and resources about developing Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) outcomes and Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals. It includes: an introductory video, a set of six fully-scripted PowerPoint presentations, handouts, activities and supplemental materials.

Integration: The information presented in this training package fits well with content presented in the early childhood courses Child Development; Child, Family and Community; Infants, Toddlers and Twos and Introduction to Early Childhood Education.

Content Focus: Authentic Assessment; Collaboration with Families; Communication with Families; Early Intervention; Evaluation; Families; Functional Assessment; Goal Statements; Individual Education Program (IEP) Goals; Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) Outcomes; Infants, Toddlers and Twos; Observation Clips

Notes: In section 3 of this training package, two brief video clips simulate an observation during a functional, authentic assessment. Have students view these and use the questions included to prompt discussion and reflection.
