Abstract: The author states that she created this resource to introduce basic autism facts to children ages 6-12 years old. Presented in a question and answer format, the information is straight-forward and useful for individuals of any age. The author describes how children on the autism spectrum might act differently from others and how some use assistive technology to help them communicate. Questions she answers include, “Is autism contagious?” “How many kids today have autism?” and “Why are children with autism so different from each other?”

Integration: This video can be used in any course in which content includes an introduction to individuals on the autism spectrum.

Content Focus: Autism Spectrum; Health, Safety, and Nutrition

Notes: This resource was found and used by Mitchell Community College faculty to help scholars learn about food and sensitivity issues experienced by some children on the autism spectrum.
