Abstract: In this video, preschool teachers Janelle Payne and Jill Sprafke describe The Incredible Years, a research validated social-emotional curriculum that their district chose to implement which has led to positive outcomes for children. They believe that one of the reasons the curriculum is so engaging is that it uses puppets to teach skills such as self-regulation and problem-solving. They explain that their students interact with the puppets in ways they do not interact with their peers or teachers. The puppets give them confidence to try new problem solving strategies and solutions. Throughout the video we see teachers using the curriculum with their children.

Integration: This video can be used not only in Curriculum Planning but in Child Guidance and Social Emotional Development.
