Abstract: The Center for Evidence-Based Practice: Young Children with Challenging Behavior (CEBP) became the Technical Assistance Center on Social Emotional Intervention for Young Children, or TACSEI in 2008. TACSEI continues and expands of the work of CEBP by moving the extensive research CEBP conducted and synthesized on effective practices into everyday practice. The result is that decision makers, caregivers and service providers have an enhanced awareness of, understanding of, and ability to use evidence-based practices to improve the social emotional outcomes for young children with, or at risk for, delays or disabilities. Recently, some of the TACSEI staff began working on the new OSEP funded Early Childhood Technical Assistance Center (ECTA Center) to assist states in their efforts to improve systems and services related to children with disabilities. This work will keep the Pyramid and TACSEI initiatives available as states build their capacity to implement and scale-up evidence-based practices including those to support children’s social competence.
